Accelerating Aluminum-for-Copper Transition in Home Appliances

Home Appliance Industry

Copper accounts for up to 17% of raw material costs in air conditioners, primarily used in heat exchangers, connecting pipes, and motors. As copper prices continue to rise, copper’s share in air conditioner costs has reached as high as 25%. Under cost pressure, leading domestic brands such as Midea and Gree have accelerated the adoption of aluminum wires, while international brands including Panasonic, Mitsubishi, and Daikin are also gradually transitioning to aluminum-based magnet wires.

Changran Technology’s Graphene-Aluminum Alloy magnet wires are widely used in air conditioner compressors, refrigerator compressors, washing machine motors, and air conditioner fan motors, significantly reducing material costs and overall unit weight while maintaining energy efficiency.

Typical Applications:

● Air conditioner compressor motors

● Refrigerator compressor motors

● Washing machine drive motors

● Air conditioner fan motors
